Product Description

Tribolube 71 Oxygen Compatible Lubricant   2 Ounce Syringe Tribolube 71 was designed specifically for scuba applications.  It is compatible with both open circuit and closed circuit scuba. The main reason most divers and manufacturers are switching to Tribolube 71 is that it leaves less residue build up on parts.   TRIBOLUBE 71 primary characteristic is that it uses PTFE that has not been irradiated. Non-irradiated PTFE over long term exposure has demonstrated it does not corrode aluminum or anodized aluminum. Tribolube-71 has a very wide temperature range, nonreactive with strong acids, oxygen, fuels, and solvents. It is an excellent anti-wear, extreme pressure lubricant with long life. Tribolube-71 is qualified to MIL-PRF-27617 types 1, 2, & 3.     MSDS Information

  1. Great product at a great price 5 Star Review

This is the go to for O2 lubricant. It is better than Crystolube as it doesn't cake over time and you can't beat the price.

At this price, it isn't a big deal to service everything with a single O2 compatible lubricant, increasing safety and flexibility.

  2. Good lube. You need less than you expect. 4 Star Review

This is great lube. It has a light feel and easy to clean off your hands if you get messy with it. You will need a lot less than you expect. I purchased a 2oz syringe and this will likely be a "lifetime" purchase for me. After overhauling two regulator first, second and octo sets I ended up using a total volume of material equal to half a green pea with much left over. (I should have listened to John's advice and purchased a smaller amount. Sorry)
I lubed o-rings and parts by squeezing a small dab into a small zip-lock bag (2" x 3"). Smear it around and massage the lube onto parts that need lube. Save the bag for later use. This method taken from Vance Harlow's book (Oxygen Hacker's Companion). The only reason I give it 4 stars is that the grease tends to "pile up" if put onto a moving sealing surface. For example, if you were to lube a bearing and a ball rolls over a thick film of this grease, it plows the grease to the sides and as the ball passes, the grease tends to not want to collapse behind the ball again. Use it sparingly and this is the best economical choice for oxygen compatible scuba lubricants.
