Mask Magnifiers
Mask Magnifiers
This is mask magnifier section. We have two types here. The one is standard glue in round glass magnifier that is for just one lens. The second are the Dive Optx series. This version is a plastic compound that can be cut to fit into the corner of your mask. Johns Quick Tip’s: How to keep the magnifiers from falling out? Dive Optx and other companies recommend cleaning your mask and letting adhesion from the two surfaces help keep the pieces together. This is a great way to loose your magnifier (note sarcasm). The best way to keep from loosing your lenses is to glue them in. This is very easy to do all you need to do is clean your mask to remove and foreign materials, glass cleaner works fine for this. The next step is to take some CLEAR silicone window caulk and put a little dab on the lens (magnifiers go on the inside of the mask) that you are going to glue in. You only need a small dab. Once you have the small dab push the lens into the mask glass. Here is where you want to be careful you want the lens to push down flat do not wiggle it as it can cause small air bubbles to build in the silicone. If you do manage to screw this up wait for the glue to dry and just pull the lens off you can then usually just roll the dried glue off and try again.
