 Gauges, Consoles & Accessories

This is our Gauge and Console area. If you need a new hose they are also available in the Hose Category.   Please Note: One of the most important things is making sure whichever gauge you choose, you can read it easily - this of course varies with every person.     Gauge Differences: There are many different gauges out there and choosing the right one can be difficult.  All gauges are broken down into two main categories Brass or Plastic.    Brass Brass gauges tend to hold their accuracy for much longer times. They use a copper beryllium bourdon tube for sensing pressure. They are also very robust. The high end versions that use a brass case with a screw face glass face last almost forever. They are expensive but you get what you pay for.   Plastic This is the plain jane gauge seen on almost all consoles. They work fine and are ver affordable. The only gripe to the plastic gauge is they use a spring to sense pressure. When the spring gets old (this takes more than a decade if ever) they will start reading less pressure than what you normally have. This does not happen to every plastic gauge but it does happen.       Johns Words of Wisdom: Gauge hose is leaking.   There are four parts on a hose that can fail - below are listed the problem and remedies:   1. Leaking from Rubber material (Order new hose)   2. Leaking from Crimp Area – (Order Hose) – in a pinch at a dive site you can clamp the crimp with a pair of pliers and it will usually stop the leaking. This is only temporary to get you and your buddy back in the water   3. Leaking from Gauge Area If you hose is leaking from the bottom area of the gauge. This is usually the o-rings. Inside there are two o-rings. They both will need to be changed and lubricated. The o-ring size is 003. Wait till you try and change these ones, they are super small make sure you have spares as they are easy to loose   4. O-rings needed for repairs             012 on first stage             003 on Gauge Side (2 needed)
