Beginner Classes

Open Water Scuba Diver
Beginner Class

The classroom sessions will cover topics related to diving physics, physiology, tables and dive computers, dive equipment, dive planning and the environment. Study is done prior to the beginning of the course, which enables the instructor to get you in the water sooner than later. There is a final written exam that is given to test your understanding of the information.

The pool sessions will have the you learn the basic skills of scuba diving. The student will progress into the more complex diving skills and finally work on stress management in the underwater environment. Upon completion of the confined water training, you will be ready to do your open water certification dives.

The open water certification dives consist of at least four dives. The first scuba dive will have you perform the basic skills that you did in the pool earlier. The last three dives you will perform and demonstrate buoyancy control, stress management, dive planning and underwater navigation. After the “first dive butterflies”, we look for you to gain confidence as a scuba diver. We will work with you until you feel competent in your own mind. We may require additional dives if we feel you need more work. Your comfort and safety is our biggest concern.
