Northeast Scuba Supply

Thanks for visiting our site. Northeast Scuba Supply opened its doors ten years ago and we have been expanding ever since. Having outgrown our original store, our new facility in Norristown, Pennsylvania is located just minutes northwest of Philadelphia. We have the largest inventory on the east coast and are dealers of almost every dive equipment manufacturer. We specialize in wreck diving and guarantee that we have the largest selection of in-stock technical diving equipment. We own and operate our own dive boat, exploring the historic shipwrecks of the north Atlantic; so we know a thing or two about wreck diving. Please pay us a visit and see what makes us different from your average dive shop..

Copper wreck

Dive Report 06/21
Copper Wreck

Talk about a Perfect day for a Dive!

Seas flat calm, call them 1 foot if you must.
Air Temps in the lower 80’s
Water Temps, 60 something on the Surface and 48 at the bottom. Just right.
As you moved through the Thermo cline at around 50 Foot you say awe that feels better, after overheating in a dry suit while gearing up and you say the same thing on the way up after getting a little chilly on the bottom.
Visibility about 10-15 on the bottom, Not bad for NJ diving.
Max Depth 85 FSW
Dive times 37 and 40 Minutes.

I think everyone had good-great dives, lots and I mean Lots of life on the Wreck, Sea bass, Ling Cod, lobsters Crabs, Black Fish etc.

I found a beautiful sand dollar to bring home for my 4.5 year old daughter, a nice addition to her collection of goodies daddy has brought home. No value to anyone other then the bond between a father and daughter. Priceless.

I wish we had 4 dives Saturday vs. 2. It was my 1st time on that wreck and spent most of both dives working and learning the starboard side from the Screws to just past the engine.
Speaking of the engine, what a great picture I have in my mind of that big block rising 20 plus feet off the bottom, covered in sea anomies, lobsters and fish hiding in the pipes, big fishing nets draping the engine, waving slightly in the current like silent ghost, waiting to grab your gear. Just beautiful!!

Not much else to say, really other then I’m drooling to get back and see the port and forward parts of this neat old lady on the bottom and to feel, see the millions of bubble that greet you from your splash if you keep your eyes open when you roll in for that 1st dive of the day.

Brian.

Capt Bills Trip Report
Seems now besides John everybody else is bustin on me about not writing dive reports. It’s not like we’re not diving we’re getting out a couple of times a week. We’ve been hitting all our popular spots, been doing all the stupid things all divers seem to do. The sea bass population has been unbelievable on the copper wreck as both my misguided mate and Chris will attest to. The lobsters have been cooperative. Even I have been able to get in the water and do some diving. Even been plugging along with one or two lobsters a trip. I’ve developed a nasty habit of getting a little bit to aggressive grabbing sea bass and had the spines in my hand to prove it, could hardly get my glove off the other days as I had “spined” the glove to my hand. This is just one stupid stunt I do. We’ve had a few guys stick their spear in the wreck while the fish sit and laugh at them. Had a few very nice flounder taken over the week end one of which was 24 plus inches. Not a lot of objects of art coming up seems everyone has been waylaid by the food shopping. The seas have been great, flat although still only 50 on the bottom. Vis has been average of course with the lobster guys they don’t care they only need to see to the end of their hand. I am going to try and run the copper on Saturday for another fish acquisition trip. I know gas is hurting all of us, last time I filled the boat it cost 1350.00 (that’s American, not pesos). I’m still going diving I’m not a quarry kind a guy, I’ll quit drinking (no really) just to go. I hope I’ll be more entertaining in my future reports but I think I’m still upset over having no marshmallows or hot dog for my recent big bonfire. Hope to see all of you on the boat it’s the season lets do it. The copper wreck calls me. Capt. Bill and the crew of the Tunaseazure ARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

More Chemicals In Stock

Well, Paul just spent yesterday and today pricing and putting up all the new chemicals. Aside from refilling our depleted stock, we have a few new things in the chemical area including a new BC Cleaner; a Wetsuit and Drysuit Shampoo; and the best one so far is the Synthetic Fabric Cleaner. It’s made for cleaning high performance clothing, sleeping bags, Goretex, etc. This applies to dry suit diving undergarments. Regular cleaners can not be used for these high performance undergarments as the surfactants in the cleaners keep the high performance undergarments from wicking moisture. With this cleaner, you won’t have to worry about a smelly undergarment anymore.

We are adding Tons of New Items

Please help, it seems Rob was a little ambitious and got buried in a landslide of new dive gear. As you can see he managed to escape the clutches of the new dive items.

We all know the economy sucks, but we are still growing here and Northeast Scuba Supply, Inc. We have added this week alone 160 new items to the shop.

Add an Aluminum Pony Bottle and a Blue Steel 200 bar Din/K Valve

Catalina Tanks
40cuft $179.99 $159.99
30cuft $169.99 $149.99
19cuft $159.99 $139.99
14cuft (2015psi) $149.99 $129.99
13cuft $139.99 $119.99

The more popular pony bottles are the 19cuft and the 30cuft. Plenty of gas to get you back to the surface and allow for you to have a short hang for safety. If you move into a 40cuft tank, the drag is increased. Plus, pony brackets get stressed when using tanks so large. When diving shallow depths, the 13cuft and 14cuft work great; but they may not be suitable for deeper dives. The 14cuft is great if you like to transfill on the go from another tank. The low pressure (2015psi) makes it easier to fill/top off completely from another tank.
